Dr Graham’s Homes
Dr Graham’s Homes formerly called the St. Andrew’s Colonial Homes was founded in 1900 by Reverend Dr. John Anderson Graham a missionary of the Church of Scotland, who settled in Kalimpong and worked with the local community for several years during the turn of the 20th century.
Crockety is a cottage which was built by the British wool traders. It is a renowned attraction of Kalimpong and is situated approximately 51 km from Darjeeling. Crockety is situated in the upper section of the town of Kalimpong. The excellent architecture and the royal look would definitely grab your attention. It stands as a symbol of British architectural excellence.
Thongsha Gumpha, the oldest monastery in the region of Kalimpong, was established in 1692. Popularly known as Bhutanese Monastery, this monastery is located near the top of RC Mintri Road. It was commissioned under the rule of Bhutan and was constructed under the guidance of the King of Bhutan.
Jaldhaka River Valley
The river valley at Jaldhaka is situated at about 1500 ft above sea level on the shores of the Jaldhaka River that happens to be one of the major attractions of this valley. People visit this place for its natural beauty that offers ample opportunities for travellers to go for fishing and riverside picnic.
Gouripur House is located at a distance of around 2 kilometre from town on the way to Durpin Dara. Though Kalimpong was a small hill station, but still was favourite place of the great Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore. On visiting the destination, he stayed at Gouripur House.
Durpin Dara Hill
Durpin Dara, located at an altitude of 1,402 metre, is known for its beautiful views. It is an observatory point, which is located approximately 3 kilometre from the town. Tourists visiting this place can enjoy beautiful views of the Himalayan ranges.
