Madan Mohan Bari

The Madan Mohan Bari is a very important temple located in the middle of the town of Cooch Behar. The temple was constructed in between 1885 and 1889 by Maharaja Nripendra Narayan. Inside the temple, deities of Ma Kali, Lord Madan Mohan, Ma Bhavani and Ma Tara can be found.

Siddheswari Kali Bari

The Siddheswari Kali Bari was constructed by Maharaja Harendra Narayan in 1830 and is located around 11 km from the town of Cooch Behar. The temple has the idol of Goddess Siddheswari and there is a holy tree by the temple as well.

Rajbari Park

The word Rajpat has been derived probably from the Bengali ‘Rajbari’ or ‘Rajbati’ or ‘Rajprasad’. The ‘Khen’ king Nilambar of this Kamtapur Kingdom was defeated in a battle by sultan Hussain Shah of Bengal in 1498 AD.

Baneswar Shiva Temple

Located 10 km towards the north of the town of Cooch Behar, the temple of Baneswar Siva has a ‘Shivalinga’ that is 10 ft below the platform level. The temple also has ‘Gouripat’ and another temple by its side with the idol of ‘Ardhanariswar’.

Kameswari Temple

Located around 8 km towards the west of the railway station of Dinhata, the present building of the Kamteswari temple is not the original one. The present version was erected in 1665 by Maharaja Pran Narayan after the older one was destroyed.
